Togean Islands, Central Sulawesi, Diving Indonesia
Togean Islands are a remote tourist destination lying in the heart of the pristine Tomini Bay in Sulawesi. Few people have been visiting this area for more 20 years as public transportation is still rather challenging. Its location, far removed from the bustle of big cities means it takes time to get here. But once you're here, you're welcomed with islands with long streaks of white sand beaches, fringed by the expanse of crystalline blue waters.
Wakai - The Main Village in the Togean Islands
This little fishing village is the point of arrival for the ferry from mainland Sulawesi. Here you may buy some snacks and is the best place to find transportation for island hopping. All public ferries stop here. Also it has a hospital to serve the area.

Malenge is quite far from Wakai. It takes 2 to 3 hours by private boat. There are many small guesthouses along the white sand beach (Malenge Lestari, Malenge Indah, and the new Sera Beach). Malenge is a nice place for sightseeing, without any dive centre. The beaches have an air of mystique about them, so go here for the absolute private beach experience.
